The NAHC Annual Meeting educational programs are organized by time offered and by content topics. The following pages provide a preliminary listing of the 112 educational programs to be offered, totaling more than 168 hours of programming.
CE Credits for Educational Programs
All educational programs are 90 minutes in length and are presented in group-live format. Each program will carry 1.8 CE credits for nurses and 1.0 credit for accountant CPAs. Nurse attendees can earn a maximum of 14.4 CE credits and accountants up to 8 CPE credits.
Certified Home/Hospice Care
Executive Program
NAHC is committed to ensuring competent leadership of home care and hospice organizations. Professional certification as a home/hospice care executive through the Certified Home/Hospice Care Executive (CHCE) program demonstrates that individuals are committed to quality leadership that supports the mission and purpose of their organizations. All programs and general sessions accredited for continuing education at this conference qualify for CHCE recertification. In addition, all programs at this conference are relevant to executives who are preparing for the CHCE exam.
Remember that 40 of the 80 points required for CHCE recertification (every four years) must be obtained through continuing education credit. At least 10 continuing education points must be from NAHC conferences, teleconferences, workshops or CE articles in CARING Magazine.
Please remember to keep program certificates as documentation of attendance and credit.
CE Scanning Procedure
As NAHC continues to remain on the cutting edge of the electronic age, we are pleased to now be using the new “easy swipe” CE procedure. Gone are the days when you must stand and wait for your badge to be scanned. This year, you will be provided with a magnetic card (similar to a credit card) that you will simply swipe as you enter your desired sessions. (As an added convenience, you will now be able to provide your “easy swipe” card in the Home Care & Hospice Expo to provide your contact information in seconds!)
Please keep in mind the following CE policies, which have not changed:
- Cards must be swiped BEFORE going into a
session.
- If you leave early, you will be required to swipe your card and you will not receive credit for the session.
- If you arrive for the session more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time, you will not be eligible for CE credits for that session. Swiping of cards will NOT be permitted any later than 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time.
- Turn in a completed program evaluation form at the end of each session attended.
- Following the conference, your CE certificates will be mailed to you.
- There will be a $15 fee for replacement certificates.
- To be eligible for CE’s you must attend the entire session and submit an evaluation in order to have the session appear on your certificate.
CE Approval
Application for approval for continuing education for all NAHC concurrent programs is pending through the Maryland Nurses Association, accredited as an approver of continuing education for nurses by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Many states have reciprocity agreements and will accept the contact hours approved by the Maryland Nurses Association. In addition, some accrediting organizations representing other disciplines have reciprocity agreements. If you have questions, please contact the Maryland Nurses Association at 410-944-5800.
NAHC has been issued continuing education provider number CPE 10810 by the California Board of Registered Nursing. Most states have reciprocity agreements and will accept the contact hours for educational programs. In addition, some accrediting organizations representing other disciplines may also have reciprocity agreements.
For more information regarding administrative policies, such as complaint or refund, you may contact our meetings department at 202-547-7424, or by email at meetings@nahc.org.
NAHC is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE sponsors (Sponsor ID# 104616).
