June 20, 2013 09:47 AM
On April 29, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released information related to several changes it is contemplating for the hospice program.
Among the changes are:
Significant modifications to the hospice cost report
Diagnosis coding on hospice claims: multiple diagnoses, use of debility and adult failure to thrive, use of mental, behavioral and neurodevelopmental disorders
Proposed changes to the Hospice Quality Reporting Program
Anticipated hospice payment update for FY2014
Hospice payment reform
NAHC’s Hospice Association of America (HAA) has developed a chart that includes links to information about CMS’ proposed hospice changes and some initial comments on the proposals that may be useful in developing comments for submission or tracking the proposals.
The chart is available Here.
If you have any comments on any of the proposals that you would like to have considered for inclusion in HAA’s formal comments to CMS, please submit them to Theresa Forster (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Katie Wehri (Katie@nahc.org) by Tuesday, June 25.
