Jeff Kincheloe, Vice President for Government Affairs for the National Association of Home Care & Hospice (NAHC), met with Democratic Senators and their Chiefs of Staff during the annual fall retreat for Democratic Senators. Senators attending the fall retreat included Senator Max Baucus, Chairman of the powerful Senate Finance Committee, which has jurisdiction over Medicare and Medicaid.
NAHC has participated in similar events for Republican Senators in the past.
During the fall retreat, Mr. Kincheloe had the opportunity to reiterate NAHC’s opposition to CMS’ new rebasing proposed rule, as well as the onerous documentation requirements under the face-to-face physician encounter rule and proposals that would reintroduce a home health copayment to Medicare.
Mr. Kincheloe made particular note of the detrimental consequences rebasing would have on the home health agencies in the states and the beneficiaries they serve.
