CMS Issues Extension for Comments on the Proposed Rule for the Home Health Conditions of Participation
December 2, 2014 11:04 AM
CMS has issued an extension for comments on the proposed rule for the Home Health Conditions of Participation. The comment period is extended to January 7, 2015.
The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC), is pleased that CMS has agreed to extend the comment period. On October 27 NAHC, on behalf of it’s members, sent a letter to Marylyn Tavenner, Administrator, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services requesting a 30 day extension on the comment period for the proposed rule Medicare and Medicaid Program: Conditions of Participation for Home Heath Agencies (CMS-3819-P).
For many agencies, the proposed revisions will require a significant change in their operations and financial commitments. Agencies need adequate time to review the proposed rule in order to understand its impact.
NAHC will continue to work on comments to the proposed rule and incorporate suggestions from its membership. NAHC encourages everyone to submit comments. The more individual comments CMS receives the greater the impact.
