NAHC Urges it's Members to Contact CMS Administrator Tavenner and their Lawmakers Asking to Phase-in the New F2F Regulations
December 17, 2014 11:01 AM
Last week, both NAHC and it's affiliate, the Forum of State Associations (FSA), sent letters to CMS requesting the use of a phase-in approach with the new requirements in the physician face-to-face (F2F) encounter rule that take effect on January 1, 2015.
To date, CMS has not issued any guidance or initiated any education on the new requirement that physicians have sufficient documentation in their own files to support the certification of homebound status and skilled care need.
NAHC is asking its members to take a moment to weigh in with CMS and elected officials in supporting NAHC and FSA’s request for a phase-in approach to enforcement. The message to CMS and your legislators is: “Phase-in the new F2F documentation requirements by issuing comprehensive guidance on compliance and education of physicians and home health agencies before instituting full enforcement.”
