CMS “Migration” from IACS to EIDM – What it Means for Hospices
January 26, 2015 02:57 PM
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced that it is transitioning the IACS system, through which providers gain access to their P S & R reports, to the EIDM system on Monday, February 9. This change will impact all provider types that utilize IACS. However, given the new requirement that hospice providers calculate and self report their 2014 aggregate cap by March 31 - but secure their data from the P S & R no sooner than January 31 - NAHC and its affiliate, the Hospice Association of America, are advising hospice providers to ensure that they are “active” in the IACS system so that they can access their P S & R beginning January31.
For additional information, please see: Issue in Focus: Getting Ready for Hospice Self-Reporting of the Aggregate Cap from the January 8, 2015 NAHC Report.
Included below is guidance from CMS that has been posted on the IACS Overview web page at, which is available here.
