Home Care, Hospice Community Encouraged to Contact Their Members of Congress over President’s Day Recess
February 13, 2015 05:08 PM
Congress adjourns for the President’s Day recess at the end of this week. Neither the House nor the Senate will return until Monday, February 23. This provides many opportunities for home care and hospice grassroots action back in the lawmakers’ home states and districts over the recess, including face-to-face meetings, attending town hall gatherings, and taking them on home visits. You may go to your Congress member’s website to see if his/her recess schedule is published. If a schedule isn’t published on the website, call his or her local office.
The following are issues that home care and hospice advocates may wish to raise with their Members of Congress over the recess, along with new NAHC Legislative Action Center that provides background information, talking points, and sample messages on each issue. For more on NAHC’s new Legislative Action Center, please see NAHC Report, January 19, 2015.
