Recent Updates to the CAHPS Hospice Survey

NAHC and its affiliate the Hospice Association of America (HAA) wanted to share that the following two updates, which were recently posted to the CAHPS website regarding the hospice CAHPS survey - Updates to the CAHPS Hospice Survey Quality Assurance Guidelines Technical Corrections and Clarifications Document and the FAQs. More detail on the updates is below.
At this point in time, hospices should be contracting with a vendor to complete a dry run of the Hospice CAHPS survey process. The dry run must be completed in at least one of the first three months of 2015 - January, February and/or March.
Updates have been made to the CAHPS Hospice Survey Quality Assurance Guidelines V1.0 Technical Corrections and Clarifications Document. The updates were made on February 13, 2015.
The CAHPS Hospice Survey Project Team has posted an updated CAHPS Hospice Survey technical corrections and clarifications to the CAHPS Hospice Survey Quality Assurance Guidelines V1.0 document. These updates include: clarification of decedent/caregiver eligibility requirements and several minor wording revisions to the English and Spanish versions of the Telephone Script. The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) were updated on February 13, 2015.
The FAQs page has been updated to add clarification to “How do you determine the eligibility of decedents/caregivers?” The FAQs are available here. Hospices are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the CAHPS website. NAHC and HAA will share any additional updates when they become available.
