Registration in CMS IACS System to Resume
April 16, 2015 08:51 AM
In late January the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) began a planned one-week transition of the Provider Statistical and Reimbursement Report (PS&R) application from the IACS system to the EIDM system. The transition met with unanticipated technical problems and was postponed until further notice. In the meantime, providers who were not active in the IACS system at the start of the systems transition have not been able to register in the IACS system and have been unable to access their PS&R reports; this has created difficulties for a number of hospice providers relative to self-calculation and reporting of the 2014 aggregate cap as well as for home health providers that were under deadline to meet cost reporting requirements.
Two of CMS’sHHH contractors (CGS and National Government Services) have announced that effective April 15, 2015, CMS is re-enabling registration in the IACS system.
CMS IACS Registration help can be accessed HERE: http://www.cms.gov/Research-Statistics-Data-and-Systems/CMS-Information-Technology/IACS/IACS-Registration-Help.html.
While CMS has not posted information about re-enablement of IACS registration, the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) has confirmed with the CMS External Users Support staff that the IACS website is now available for registrations and access to PS&R reports. Please note that new registrations in the system may take several days to finalize.
Following is the notice that was posted by CGS:

Announcement: IACS Registration Being Re-Enabled
Since January 30th, 2015, IACS organization and account registration has been frozen in support of the EIDM transition. Due to on-going troubleshooting with the transition, CMS is re-enabling IACS registration functionality for PS&R and STAR users as of April 15th, 2015 (Wednesday). Users with existing IACS accounts will remain unaffected, and may continue using IACS, PS&R, and STAR, as they have been since the transition began 2 months ago. Users who have been unable to register during this period may resume organization and account registration activities via the same IACS pages in use thus far: https://idm.cms.hhs.gov/idm/user/newregistration.jsp[idm.cms.hhs.gov
An update will be provided when the EIDM transition resumes.
