New Cosponsor Checklist: Home Health Care Planning Improvement Act
January 26, 2016 12:54 PM
The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) has developed a new congressional checklist to track cosponsors of the Home Health Care Planning Improvement Act (S. 578 / H.R. 1342) by state. The checklist will allow NAHC members to easily see which members of Congress have and have not yet cosponsored the legislation. The objective is to gain as many cosponsors as possible in both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives in order to secure passage of this crucial legislation.

If any member of Congress from your state has not yet cosponsored the legislation, please use NAHC’s Legislative Action Center to request that they do so by clicking here.
The legislation, which would permit non-physician practitioners (NPPs) to authorize home health plans of care, is a top priority of NAHC as more and more Medicare beneficiaries rely on NPPs as their primary care provider, especially in rural regions of the nation.
The legislation currently has a total of 173 bipartisan cosponsors in the U.S House of Representatives, as well as 43 bipartisan cosponsors in the U.S. Senate. NAHC is focused on increasing the number of cosponsors in the Senate, in addition to gaining more cosponsors in the House. Additional cosponsors will help build momentum to advance the legislation through the committee process and receive a score from the Congressional Budget Office.
