Hospice CAHPS Notices and Reminders Posted Online

Following are five notices recently posted to the CAHPS Hospice Survey webpage.  In particular, vendors and hospice providers should take note of the February 10 data submission deadline for CAHPS Hospice Surveys from Quarter 3 of 2015.

REMINDER: CAHPS Hospice Survey Quarter 3 2015 Data Submission Deadline is Wednesday, February 10:  The deadline for survey vendors to submit CAHPS Hospice Survey Quarter 3 2015 (patient deaths in July, August and September 2015) data is February 10, 2016. Survey vendors are responsible for successfully submitting files by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.

Following the submission of survey data to the CAHPS Hospice Survey Data Warehouse, an automated email will be sent to CAHPS Hospice Survey vendors advising if the uploaded file did not meet the established naming standards. If the uploaded file fails to meet the established naming standard, the file will not be processed. A correct file will need to be resubmitted prior to the deadline. Please note -- if the file has been sent with the correct naming standard, the survey vendor will not receive this email.

A series of edit checks will be applied to successfully submitted files. Survey vendors and hospices will receive an email indicating CAHPS Hospice Survey Data Submission Reports (containing results from the edits checks) are available for viewing in their respective folders in the CAHPS Hospice Survey Data Warehouse. Reports will be posted by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on the next business day after submission by the survey vendor.

Hospice-specific FAQs Page Updated:  The Hospice-specific FAQs page has been updated to include an additional question: What reports are available to my hospice on the CAHPS Hospice Survey Data Warehouse? In addition, clarification to the following question has been added: How will my hospice access the CAHPS Hospice Survey Data Warehouse? To view these updates, please click here.

UPDATED: OMB Paperwork Reduction Act Language:  The OMB Paperwork Reduction Act language has been updated for the following CAHPS Hospice Survey translations: Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Russian, and Portuguese. To view or download the updated OMB Paperwork Reduction Act language, please click here.  The OMB Paperwork Reduction Act language can be found after the CAHPS Hospice Survey and cover letters.

UPDATED: English and Spanish Telephone Script:  The CAHPS Hospice Survey Telephone Script in English and Spanish has been updated. Details regarding the revisions can be found in the CAHPS Hospice Survey Quality Assurance Guidelines V2.0 Technical Corrections and Clarifications document located on the Quality Assurance Guidelines page.
