CMS: Over 400 HHVBP Participants Still Not Registered for the Secure Portal
September 30, 2016 02:30 PM
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has informed the National Association for Home Care & Hospice that 438 agencies across the nine states that are participating the home health value based purchasing (HHVBP) program have yet to complete the final steps to access to the HHVBP Secure Portal as of September 18, 2016.
Without access to the HHVBP Secure Portal, agencies are not able to view the first Interim Performance Reports (IPRs) that were posted on the HHVBP Secure Portal on July 27th, 2016, and will be unable to submit data for the three New Measures each quarter starting October1, 2016.
Agencies must report the New Measures through the HHVBP Secure Portal beginning October 1, 2016, but no later than Oct 16, 2016, in order to receive the maximal allowed points for their total point score (TPS). Each of the New Measures equals 10 points, representing 10 % of the TPS. The reporting period for the New Measures reflects data collected between July, 2016 and September, 2016.
PLEASE NOTE: CMS announced during a recent HHVBP webinar that the submission deadline is extended through Oct 16, 2016 due to a CMS outage that will prevent access to the portal on Oct 1-Oct 2 and Oct 8- Oct 9.
Below are the steps and resources needed to gain access to the HHVBP Secure Portal. Although you may have taken some of the steps, all of the following steps must be completed in order to gain access to the HHVBP Secure Portal.
Step 1 - CMS Enterprise Portal
Step 2 - Innovation Center
Step 3 - HHVBP Secure Portal
Request the HHVBP Application and the HHA Primary POC role in the HHVBP Application. Do not select Business Owner, Business Owner Delegate, or HHVBP Application Administrator as these are roles for CMS staff.
The following attached resources can assist you in this process: Part B of “Registration for the HHVBP Secure Portal” (PDF), and “Instructions for Accessing the HHVBP Secure Portal” (PDF).
If you need help, please call the HHVBP Model Help Desk at (844) 280-5628. Ask the customer service agent to stay on the line with you until you have completed the process. If you need to change the PPOC, please email HHVBPquestions@cms.hhs.govto identify the new PPOC. And, always include the applicable CCN with each inquiry.
