Access Your Agency’s PEPPER
March 15, 2017 02:31 PM
PEPPER (Program for Evaluating Payment Patterns Electronic Report) is an educational tool that summarizes one HHA's claims data statistics for Medicare services that may be at risk for improper payments. Providers can use the data to support internal auditing and monitoring activities. The Home Health Agency (HHA) PEPPER with statistics through December 2015 has been available to access through the PEPPER Resources Portal since July 14, 2016.
If you have not accessed your agency’s PEPPER, the Chief Executive Officer, President, Administrator or Compliance officer can easily do so. Simply:
Visit the Distribution Schedule - Get Your PEPPER page at PEPPERresources.org.
Review the instructions and obtain the information required to authenticate access through the PEPPER Resources Portal (the HHA's CMS certification number and a medical record number or patient control number from a traditional Medicare fee-for-service claim for services with a "from" or "through" date between December 1-31, 2015).
Access the PEPPER Resources Portal.
Complete all the fields.
Download your PEPPER.
If you have trouble accessing your PEPPER, you can contact them through their Help Desk. The HHA PEPPER will be available to download as a Microsoft Excel file for approximately two years. Visit the HHA Training and Resources section of PEPPERresources.org for recorded training sessions on PEPPER; access the HHA PEPPER User's Guide here.
Visit PEPPERresources.org to access resources for using PEPPER, including a sample HHA PEPPER.
