The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has just announced that it is hosting a webinar for hospice providers on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, from 2 - 3:45 p.m. EASTERN. The primary focus of the webinar will be CMS data submission requirements for the Hospice Quality Reporting Program (HQRP), including information on the Hospice Timeliness Compliance Threshold Report, the Hospice-Level Quality Measures Report, and the Patient Stay-Level Quality Measures Report. A brief review of the use of information available in previously-released reports will also be presented. Registration for the webinar is limited to 1,000 participants on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once registration is closed, directions will be provided regarding steps for being placed on a wait list. To register, please CLICK HERE.
However, the data submission requirements go into effect on April 1, 2017, more than three weeks before the CMS webinar. Fortunately, National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) has you covered. As previously reported in NAHC Report and FYI, NAHC has produced a 70-minutes webinar that is free to all members. This webinar provides:
An overview of the history of the HQRP;
A detailed overview of the new data your hospice must collect beginning in April to be on track for the new HIS-based quality measures, and
A preview of the future of the HQRP.
The NAHC webinar is now available. When you register for this program, you will receive two “takeaway” toolkits:
“Hospice Quality Reporting Program Toolkit: Getting Established” — an overview for individuals/hospice programs that are new to the HIS, and
“Hospice Item Set Toolkit: Two New Measures” — detail specific to the data elements that must be collected beginning April 1, 2017, to facilitate CMS’ calculation of the two new HIS measures.
