Government Publication Clearinghouses
The Government Printing Office (GPO) is the primary distributor of government documents and manuals. The National Technical Information Service (NTIS) is another source for the purchase of many useful government documents and research studies.
The HCFA Health Insurance Manual #11 (HIM-11) highlights Medicare home health coverage billing procedures. It can be provided to you by a fiscal intermediary (the Medicare-contracted claims processor) after you receive your Medicare provider number, or you may purchase a copy from NAHC prior to that time.
The HCFA Provider Reimbursement Manuals No. 15-1 and 15-2 contain the basic guidelines and principles of Medicare cost reimbursement and methods for determining visit charges. If you wish to obtain a copy of any of these manuals, contact either GPO or NTIS.
