Annual conference will focus on financial management advice for home health businesses as Medicare payment rates tighten

WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 27, 2011) – Home health and hospice leaders will converge in San Diego on July 13-15, 2011 for the 17 th Annual Financial Management Conference & Exposition designed to address the opportunities and challenges ahead for the industry.
With the reforms that are set within the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, it is more important than ever to equip home health and hospices with solid direction on how to operate efficiently, deliver consistent, reliable services and expand operations into the new home care opportunities that are developing. These new opportunities will help balance businesses as payment cuts and the ever-rising costs of doing business strain profitability.
Attendees will earn continuing education credits while hearing from industry leaders who will share what has worked for them, what they see coming down the pipeline, and how to navigate the future landscape of the home care world. This conference is co-sponsored by the National Association for Home Care & Hospice and its affiliate Home Care & Hospice Financial Managers Association.
There are three tracks of learning within the conference including Leadership, Home Health and Hospice. Leadership sessions will focus on the new opportunities in home care. The home health and hospice tracks will address how to boost each agency’s performance and efficiencies in such areas as: regulatory compliance, costs savings in operations, productivity, patient care management, and much more.
There are also pre-conference sessions available: Hospice Boot Camp, which will deliver the knowledge and skills needed to manage hospice operations in this changing environment; Home Health Care Agency Financial Basics, which provides an overview or refresher course designed to establish and monitor agency success; and Accountability Guaranteed - a Technology Driven Community-Based Model for Home Care, which will delve into the new care delivery models and how accountability and responsibility in clinical and financial outcomes is crucial for success.
