Home Health PPS Update:
Why Accurate Diagnosis Coding is More Important Than Ever
Audio Seminar/Webinar
Wednesday, December 19, 2007
Seminar lasts 90 minutes, beginning at 1 p.m. ET; 12 noon CT; 11 a.m. MT; 10 a.m. PT

Attendees receive two AHIMA CEUs or 1.8 ANCC contact hours.

Dear Colleague:

Significant changes to the home health prospective payment system (PPS) go into effect on January 1, 2008. One of the major changes in case-mix scoring is the addition of co-morbidities and interactions of diagnoses with other patient characteristics for both episode and medical supply payment. To ensure you and your colleagues are ready for the changes, the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) presents this information-packed audio seminar in conjunction with the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC). A live Q and A session immediately following the seminar clarifies crucial points…on the spot! And NAHC members will receive AHIMA member pricing of $179 (nonmember price is $229).

In an information-packed 90 minutes, we will review:

  • Diagnosis coding changes for home health PPS
  • New home health agency considerations that need to occur in order to accurately report services under the update home health PPS including key changes such as diagnosis coding, completing the OASIS, payment structure, clinical documentation, and case mix
  • Practical tips on how to transition into the new home health PPS

Plus, you’ll practice what you’ve learned using challenging case scenarios.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Home health personnel responsible for identifying and coding clinical changes for coding and reporting diagnoses and services

The low price of $179 for members (or $229 for nonmembers) per seminar covers as many colleagues at your facility as you wish to invite to your site! In fact, AHIMA audio seminars are so cost-effective, when you get a large group together—15 or more—the cost goes down to a miniscule $12 or less per person. Now that’s value! Your registration includes:

  • Access to the seminar for as many colleagues as you can fit in a room with a speakerphone--$179 for members/$229 for nonmembers is the per-site charge, NOT the per-person cost!
  • Presentation handouts will be available in advance.

Receive two AHIMA CEUs (or 1.8 ANCC contact hours*) for attending the live seminar, or listening to the audio CD or pre-recorded Webcast version.

*AHIMA is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

BONUS—Web Conferencing!

When you participate in the live audio seminar, you can follow the presentation online at no extra charge.

Remember, you and your colleagues can participate for the price of ONE registration—just dial in and gather around a speakerphone!

When you can gain so much practical knowledge in such a short time at such an economical price, you don’t want to miss out. Registration information is below. Sign up today…access is limited!
