The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) is the voice of home care and hospice. NAHC represents the nation’s 33,000 home care and hospice providers, along with the more than two million nurses, therapists, and aides they employ. These caregivers provide vital services to Americans who are aged, disabled, and ill. Some 12 million patients depend on home care and hospice providers. They, in turn, depend on NAHC for the best in advocacy, education, and information. NAHC is a nonprofit organization that strives for excellence in all respects. Recently two of the CMS contractors a have announced widespread audits of home health providers with a key focus on compliance with the face-to-face (F2F) encounter documentation requirements. The documentation requirements have become more stringent recently with contractors now expecting physicians to write detailed descriptions of the patient’s condition in order to support the need for skilled services and homebound status. read more
