OIG Issues Report on Illinois Medicaid Reimbursement for Hospice Claims

The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) recently released the report Illinois Did Not Always Properly Claim Medicaid Reimbursement for Hospice Claims. Previous OIG reviews found that states did not always comply with federal and state requirements for hospice claims. This report is the second released this month from the OIG regarding compliance with Medicaid hospice requirements.

Collaborating to Improve Preventive Cardiovascular Homecare

As part of its new Cardiovascular Health Improvement Initiative, the Home Health Quality Improvement (HHQI) National Campaign has recently created the Home Health Cardiac Council. OIG Reviews Rhode Island Hospice GIP Claims Under Medicaid

The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) released a report based on a review that was completed of the Rhode Island Executive Office of Health and Human Services Office of Medicaid’s payments for hospice general inpatient services (GIP). The purpose of the review was to determine whether the state agency made Medicaid payments for hospice GIP services in accordance with federal and state regulations.

Home Health Claims to Identify the Certifying Physician and Physician who Signs the Plan of Care

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Service (CMS) has issued Change Request 8441 which instructs home health agencies to report the NPI and name of the physician who certifies the patient for home health services. The Change Request also requires home health agencies to report the NPI and name of the physician who signs the POC.
