NAHC’s President Meets With and Interviews Member of Congress

Last week, NAHC President Val J. Halamandaris met with Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI) to discuss a wide range of topics of concern to the home care and hospice community. Congressman Langevin has long been a staunch supporter of home care, and continues to be a tireless advocate for preserving access to high-quality home care for the most vulnerable citizens.

Congressman Langevin provides a unique perspective on the need to preserve affordable and accessible home health care. He is the first quadriplegic to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives, and currently serves as a co-char of the Bipartisan Disabilities Caucus.

During the meeting, where Mr. Halamandaris interviewed Congressman Langevin, topics discussed ranged from personal heroes and inspiration to the importance of home care - from what advice to give graduating high school seniors to what defines leadership and caring.
