CMS Proposes Significant Changes and Expanded Reporting by Hospices

Note: Special thanks go to Ted Cuppett, CPA, Managing Member of The Health Group, LLC in Morgantown, WV, for providing this summary of the proposed Hospice Cost Report changes. Additional analysis will be forthcoming.

NAHC President Val J. Halamandaris was honored with the “Home Care Champion” award from the Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts (HCAM) at the 2013 Home Care Innovations Showcase & Star Awards ceremony on May 1 at the Revere Hotel in Boston, MA.

“Home care agencies and home care beneficiaries have been fortunate to have Val Halamandaris as our champion in Washington, DC. For 40 years he has lead the fight for the rights of the most vulnerable of our citizens to be cared for in their homes. He has assured that home care has the type of bipartisan support in Washington, DC, that many other industries can only envy. The scope and quality of care that we are able to provide Massachusetts citizens every day is a direct result of his advocacy,” said Patricia M. Kelleher, Executive Director, Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts.
