Agenda Announced for CMS’ Next Open Door Forum on Tuesday, July 9 at 2 pm EST

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced that the next Home Health, Hospice and DME Open Door Forum will be held on Tuesday, July 9 from 2 to 3 p.m. EST.  

This will be a conference call only. No RSVP is necessary.

Home Care Salary and Benefits Study Looking for Participants

Hospital & Healthcare Compensation Service (HCS) is currently conducting its 23rd annual Home Care Salary & Benefits study. 

The study is conducted and published by HCS in cooperation with the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC). 

Please be aware that these important studies are underway and of the following deadlines: 

Home Care Salary & Benefits Report
Deadline for Participation:  August 2, 2013
Publication Date:  October 2013

Hospice Salary & Benefits Report
Deadline for Participation:  August 2, 2013
Publication Date:  November 2013
  
Questionnaires for the compensation study are available on the HCS website here.

More than 1,790 home health agencies participated in last year's home care study and provided compensation data on more than 92,000 employees nationwide.  Last year's hospice study had 790+ participants, reporting on more than 53,200 employees.

H.R.2504 Now has 25 Sponsors and Cosponsors

The Home Health Care Planning Improvement Act of 2013, H.R. 2504, introduced last month by Representatives Greg Walden (R-OR) and Allyson Schwartz (D-PA) now has 25 sponsors and cosponsors – up from 19 at the time of the bill's introduction. The bipartisan bill will allow physician assistants (PA), nurse practitioners (NP), clinical nurse specialists, and certified nurse midwives to order home health services for Medicare beneficiaries.

NAHC strongly supports this legislation and encourages all of its members to contact their lawmakers and urge them to become cosponsors.
