CMS is Seeking Provider Participation in Contractor Survey

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is requesting that providers complete an online registration to participate in the Medicare Administration Contractor (MAC) Satisfaction Indicator (MSI).

The MSI is a tool used by CMS to measure provider satisfaction with the MACs from which they receive services. The MSI is similar to the Medicare Contractor Provider Satisfaction Survey (MCPSS) that is conducted annually by CMS to collect quantifiable data on provider and supplier satisfaction with the performance of Medicare FFS contractors.

Medicare fee-for-service providers and suppliers who serve Medicare beneficiaries are eligible to participate. CMS will select a random sample of providers and suppliers who register using the following registration form found here.

Ask Your Representatives to Support the Home Health Care Planning Improvement Act

The Home Health Care Planning Improvement Act, H.R. 2504, was filed recently by Representatives Greg Walden (R-OR) and Allyson Schwartz (D-PA). The bill will allow nurse practitioners to sign home health plans of care for Medicare beneficiaries. To learn more, please see this recent NAHC Report article.

Thanks to all of you who have Representatives on the bill already. Let’s do all we can to get a majority of the House on this bipartisan bill!

NAHC has learned that Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has agreed to co-sponsor the Senate companion bill with Senator Susan Collins (R-ME). The Senate bill will be filed in the coming weeks.

Federal Commission on Long-Term Care Holds its Inaugural Hearing

On June 27, Steve Postal, director of the Medicaid Resource Center for the National Council on Medicaid Home Care (the Council), a NAHC affiliate, attended the Federal Commission on Long-Term Care’s inaugural hearing entitled: “The Current System for Providing Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS).” The following members of the Commission were in attendance:

Chris Jacobs, George Vradenburg, Stephen Guillard, Carol Rafael, Lawrence Atkins (Staff Director), Bruce Chernof (Chair), Mark Warshawsky (Co-Chair), Henry Claypool, Neil Pruitt, Judith (Judy) Feder, Javaid Anwar, Grace-Marie Turner, and Judith (Judy) Brachman.
