2015 NAHC Annual Meeting & Exposition Call for Presentations Now Open
Deadline for Presentations is Monday, January 19, 2015

Have you ever thought of being a presenter for NAHC conferences? Have you or members of a team at your agency or hospice developed a unique program that helps to improve care and increase efficiency? You have an opportunity to share your knowledge with your peers. Learn more about NAHC's presenter submission process by visiting here.

We encourage all members, including our associate members and vendors, to participate as faculty in our 2015 Annual Meeting. Our policy is that at least one faculty member in each proposed program must be an active employee of a home care or hospice provider and that member will serve as the designated primary faculty for the session.

CGS Announces the Establishment of a New Web Page Dedicated to Submission of Claims for Untimely Notices of Election

CGS, a Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC), recently announced a new website for the submission of claims for untimely notices of election (NoE). The new website, Submitting Claims for Untimely Notices of Election (NOEs), will assist hospice providers with determining the receipt date of the NOE, and it also provides details on how to submit a  hospice claim when the NOE is untimely.

According to the new CGS website:

“Effective for hospice admissions on/after October 1, 2014, the hospice notice of election (NOE) must be submitted to and accepted by CGS within 5 days after the hospice admission to be considered timely…

If the NOE is not received timely, those days from admission to the day before the NOE was received, are considered noncovered, and the provider is financially liable for those days.”

NAHC/HAA Urges its Members to Provide Feedback for its 2015 Legislative Priorities
Member Feedback Will Guide NAHC’s Legislative and Regulatory Advocacy in the Crucial Upcoming Year

The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) and its affiliate Hospice Association of America (HAA) are soliciting members' and advocates' input regarding the most important and significant legislative and regulatory challenges and concerns for the home care and hospice community.
NAHC will use these priorities to guide its legislative and regulatory advocacy during the March on Washington and throughout 2015.

Three simple online questionnaires are now available to allow home care and hospice organizations, as well as other interested parties, to provide their input. The questionnaires will only be available through Tuesday, January 6, 2015, so please take a moment and cast your votes as soon as possible.

The questionnaires can be found below:

Legislative Priorities Survey:

Hospice Priorities Survey:

Regulatory Priorities Survey:

Items should be ranked on the questionnaires according to the level of importance the voter believes they hold for the home care and hospice community. Again, questionnaires must be completed no later than Tuesday, January 6, 2015 to allow votes to be included in each final tally.
