NAHC Urges Home Care and Hospice Community to Ramp Up Congressional Outreach during the August Break
Grassroots outreach efforts will help protect and improve access to home care and hospice
This week, the U.S. Senate adjourns for its annual August recess; the U.S. House adjourned last week. They are scheduled to return on September 8. During the annual recess, lawmakers usually travel back to their home states in order to spend more time with their constituents. This provides increased opportunities for home care and hospice advocates to engage their members of Congress regarding pressing issues. During the recess, the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) urges its members, along with friends, family, and co-workers, to speak out as much as possible. It is also a good time to thank members of Congress who have taken a stand against home care and hospice payment cuts and copays.
Below are some issues that home care and hospice advocates may wish to raise with their members of Congress during the recess, as well as links to NAHC’s Legislative Action Center with background information, talking points, and sample messages pertaining to each issue.
