Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) to Join Six Other Bipartisan U.S. Senators in Speaking at the Home Care & Hospice Community March on Washington

U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) will address the National Association for Home Care & Hospice’s (NAHC) Senate Breakfast at the 2016 March on Washington Conference on the morning of Tuesday, April 5. With the addition of Sen. Blumenthal, attendees will now hear remarks regarding home care and hospice policy from a total of seven bipartisan U.S. Senators. Sen. Blumenthal, like the others, holds important committee assignments and is a strong supporter of home care and hospice. As the Ranking Democratic Member on the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, Sen. Blumenthal has made it one of his top priorities to fight for veterans and their families and improve veterans’ health care. He also serves on the Special Committee on Aging where he has demonstrated his commitment to addressing the needs of aging Americans. He previously introduced the Elder Abuse and Prevention Act to put in place a network of elder abuse prevention and response measures; many of its provisions have been incorporated into the Older Americans Act.

“I am honored to serve on the Senate Special Committee on Aging that is uniquely tasked with issues that affect our seniors,” Sen. Blumenthal said in describing his commitment to seniors’ on his U.S. Senate website. “I am committed to protecting the benefits our seniors have earned, like Social Security and Medicare."
