DEADLINE IS COB TODAY — House Letter to CMS Opposing Prior Authorization Proposal
Contact Your Representative to Encourage Them to Sign Today

The deadline for members of Congress to sign to House letter opposing Medicare home health prior authorization is close of business today. The home care and hospice community has made great progress on getting a substantial number of bipartisan members of Congress on board, but we need one final push today to exceed 100. The full list of cosigners is available below.

The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) encourages everyone to make a special effort to connect with members of your delegation. You can do so using NAHC’s Legislative Action Center (available here).

If you have already done so and your member of Congress does not appear on the list below, please try again. While some members of Congress may see prior authorization as a useful program integrity tool, they need to understand that CMS proposes to use this extraordinary measure indiscriminately, applying it without distinction to home health agencies that pose no risk and those with a high risk profiles. Such an untargeted approach is wasteful of limited resources within home care and Medicare. Also, it runs a serious risk of erecting barriers to care for highly vulnerable Medicare beneficiaries. It is important that we have a good response, especially from the states targeted by the demonstration.
