NAHC’s Home Care University Training and Education Resources Now Available

The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC), in partnership with Relias Learning, is pleased to announce that training and education resources are now available through the new Home Care University, which is the go-to training and education resource for home health, home care, and hospice.

“Since NAHC was founded in 1982 the number of home care and hospice patients served increased from less than a million to more than 14 million annually. The number of infirm, disabled and dying persons needing help to remain independent at home is projected to double in the next 20 years. We will need more trained home care personnel to meet their needs. We are proud to join with Relias to accomplish this goal and guarantee the highest quality care is delivered to all,” said Val J. Halamandaris, President of NAHC.

NAHC members receive a 75% discount on every education session from NAHC conferences, as well as reduced rates for all other training.  NAHC members will also receive discounts on non-NAHC course material, and for a limited time that discount is also 75%.

HHA Peer Group Charts Available on PEPPER Website
New HHA PEPPER to be released soon!

TMF Health Quality Institute, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS’) PEPPER contractor, has developed peer group charts for the home health agency (HHA) PEPPER target areas; they are available for three categories:

  • Location (rural, urban)
  • Ownership type (for-profit, non-profit, government-sponsored)
  • Size (number of episodes)

For each target area, the charts display the target area percent that is at the 80th, 50th and 20th percentile for each peer group category for episodes ending in calendar year 2015 (January 1-December 31, 2015). HHAs can compare their Q4CY15 target area rate/percent (from their PEPPER, which will be available in the near future) for the target area to the peer group subcategory they consider is most similar to their agency. A document describing the methodology used to develop the peer groups and a listing of all HHAs and their peer group classification are also available on the  "Data" page of PEPPERresources.org on the "HHA" tab. These resources will be updated annually.
