REMINDER: Comments Due Soon on Pre-Claim Review Demonstration and the OASIS C2

The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) would like to remind its readers that the deadlines are quickly approaching to submit comments to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on two important Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) initiatives that impact home health agencies.

One is the second comment request for the home health Pre-Claim Review Demonstration project. The first request  was issued on Feb 5, 2016, as a Paper Reduction Act (PRA) notice (see previous NAHC Report article for a summary of NAHC’s comments). The demonstration at that time was proposed as a pre-authorization review on home health claims in select states. However, CMS issued another notice on June 10, 2016, announcing its plans for a Pre-Claim Review Demonstration project. The second request is a 30-day comment period that was issued in the Federal Register on June 21, 2016. Comments are due July 21, 2016.  To view the supporting statement click here.

In addition, the guidance provides information about ransomware to help health care entities understand how it works and how to spot its signs.
