Free Home Health QAPI Resources & CE Courses from HHQI

Proposed revisions to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Home Health Conditions of Participation (CoPs) are on the horizon. NAHC embers can get a jump on the anticipated Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program requirement with free resources and online courses from the Home Health Quality Improvement (HHQI) National Campaign.

HHQI University now offers a free series of online courses designed to assist home health agencies with the development of their QAPI plans. The series & tools are created from the draft Conditions of Participation (CoPs).

The foundational QAPI 101 course provides education on the 5 QAPI Standards. Three subsequent courses focus on topic-specific Performance Improvement Projects (PIPs) that are top priorities in home health: Hospitalizations, Medication Management, and Cardiovascular Health.

Grassroots Advocacy during Congressional Recess: Use Social Media to Communicate the Importance of Home Care and Hospice

With members of Congress having adjourned for recess and returned to their home states, now is a good time to engage your lawmakers about important home care and hospice issues. One of the most effective ways to engage your elected officials is to use social media to get the word out about the importance of protecting and expanding access to home care and hospice.

Following are some specific ways to engage your lawmakers using social media:

  • Add a link to NAHC’s website on your organization or company’s Facebook or LinkedIn profile.
  • Use Twitter and Facebook as a way to communicate with your followers and friends about the importance of home care and hospice.
  • Drive people to the NAHC Legislative Action Center to review talking points, impact data and the latest research, or to take action.
  • Personal stories tend to resonate, so do not be afraid to share how home care or hospice impacts people’s lives for the better; just make sure you change real names or get their permission ahead of time.
  • Follow NAHC on Twitter.
  • Like NAHC on Facebook.
  • Share and re-tweet NAHC posts.
  • If you or your agency maintains a blog, be sure to include a post about the importance of home care and hospice. Ask readers to take action to protect and expand access to home care and hospice by contacting their legislators via the NAHC Legislative Action Center.
