Home care workers seeking new permanent and temporary positions can call (888) HOMECARE, a central databank operated by National Association for Home Care and Hospice, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. CST.

They will be provided with information about job opportunities in the area where they have relocated. The primary focus will be helping them find jobs in their home states of Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.

"An estimated 3,900 home care workers in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama serving as many as 21,000 home care patients no longer have jobs either because the agency they worked for has been damaged, their patients are missing or have been evacuated, their homes are destroyed, and communications are down," said Val Halamandaris, NAHC president.
