WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 13, 2015) — National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) President Val J. Halamandaris has once again been selected as a finalist by Modern Healthcare for its annual 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare issue. In recent times, he has been on this prestigious list numerous times as one of the movers and shakers in health care.

Each year, the list honors individuals who are deemed by their peers and the senior editors of Modern Healthcare to have made the greatest impact on health care. It is very impressive for Halamandaris to be on the list, which has included heads of state, Supreme Court justices, and CEOs of multimillion-dollar corporations. It is also notable given the size of the home care and hospice industry as compared to other health care players, such as insurance companies and hospital systems. His inclusion is a tribute to his passion for home care and hospice. His advocacy has allowed millions of seniors and disabled persons to get the care they need at home.

Now it is up to the public to decide who will make the final cut. Between now and June 26, 2015, anyone may vote for their top choices on the magazine’s website. Health care organizations whose leaders were recognized will be ramping up their efforts to have their nominees selected.

NAHC Chairman of the Board Denise Schrader encourages everyone in the home care and hospice field to make a show of strength by voting for Halamandaris on this exclusive list. “It is vital to the home care and hospice community for Val to be among the winners this year,” Schrader said. “In Washington, perception is reality and this list is one means of measuring clout in the capital of our nation. We feel that our president deserves this honor, and a vote for Val is also a vote for the work we do. His presence on the list helps ensure our value is acknowledged at a time of shrinking health care dollars and growing regulations that make it harder for providers to do their job.”
