NAHC Advocacy Gets Results

In 2020 alone, NAHC advocacy won crucial victories like:

  • Permanently permitting non-physician practitioners to certify patient eligibility for Medicare home health services;
  • Securing billions of dollars for home health, home care, and hospice via the Provider Relief Fund;
  • Expanding  telehealth authorization, including for hospice;
  • Authorizing the use of telehealth to meet Medicare and Medicaid physician/NPP face-to-face certification requirements;
  • Suspending  the Review Choice Demonstration during  the pandemic;
  • Suspending  Medicare claims  review and surveys for home health and hospice during the  peak of the pandemic;
  • Expanding Medicare homebound eligibility for patients during the pandemic;
  • Achieving multiple Medicare Conditions of Participation waivers during the pandemic, including in-person aide supervision requirement;
  • Securing 10 million COVID-19 rapid tests for home health and hospice; and
  • Delaying OASIS-E requirements until January 2022 or later.
